Using the Roots.

Think twice before you throw the root end of your scallions/green onions into the Compost bin! Take those roots, stick them in some water and viola: a few weeks later you will have new green onions you can use in your favorite dish. Pro tip: Make sure you have enough water to cover the roots, and change that water frequently, so that they stay fresh. A great way to limit waste and save a little money!
